Aarun Carter

Aarun began playing violin at the age of 2 and won her first fiddle contest at the age of 4. Since then, she has won 6 Colorado State Champion titles, state titles in Oregon, Wyoming, Washington and Arkansas, and has been awarded the title of 2011 National Young Adult Champion at the National Old Time Fiddlers Contest in Weiser, Idaho.

Aarun currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where she plays with multiple bands, and is the founder and executive producer of the music documentary production company “Fiddle TV.” She has also done studio work recording fiddle songs to accompany Mel Bay’s instructional book, “Anthology of Contest Fiddle Tunes.” Aarun also has a teaching studio, including collaboration with her mother’s (also a fiddler) “Suziddle” program, a merger of Suzuki violin and fiddling.
